Oddsstaðir is located in the beautiful Borgarfjörður, West Iceland, the birthplace of the Icelandic Saga. This area has a big variability in the landscape, therefore it is an adventure to ride Icelandic horses here and enjoy the nature at the same time.
Sigurður Oddur Ragnarsson and Guðbjörg Ólafsdóttir run the farm together.
We have a long experience with horses and have been organizing riding tours since 1992.
The livestock consists of sheep and horses. There is a long tradition of horse breeding at Oddsstaðir,
Beside taking care of the livestock, travelling services have been a growing element in the business at the farm and especially horse travelling has the greatest share. The goal is to provide quality service, where the tourists get to know the family, the horsebreeding and the daily undertaking at Oddsstaðir.
The farm participates in the project “Vesturlandsskógar” and we are planting new trees every year to minimize CO2 while the trees also provide shelter against the wind.
Oddsstaðir are active in “Bændur græða landið” which is a project that takes place all over Iceland where qualified and willing farmers work to protect the sensitive land.
